Blue India
An original and best known color of peafowl, the Blue India remains a very popular choice in the world of bird fanciers. With all peafowl mutations being traced back only to the Blue India, it becomes steeped in tradition as well as history. This ageless statement of elegance and beauty has withstood the times of change. The rich shades of blue comes alive with warm hues of greens, blues, and gold accented with cream and black barred wings and rust or chocolate colored flight feathers. When you view a mature male in full display it can easily bring you into a trance-like state of serenity as you bask in nature's beauty.

Blue India Black Shoulder

The black shoulder pattern was the first mutation of the Blue India. This pattern removes the barring on the wings, leaving a luxurious black velvet appearance. This stylish bird offers everything that the blue India has to offer with that hint of darkness we find so daring and seductive. The darkness of its wings gives a more drastic contrast to the rich hues found on the body of the bird. If you seek a more formal and dramatic attire, this is the bird for you.

Blue India Pied

Another beautiful bird with the base color of the Blue India. This coloration is accompanied with the pied patter, which means it has patches of white which will appear in varying amounts. A dark pied will appear as a normal bird with as little as white flight feathers where others will be almost totally white in appearance. These birds bring a loud burst of color to your aviary that will awaken your senses. Each bird having it's own unique and intricate artwork.

Silver Pied

For anyone who appreciates a lively coloration that invokes dynamic energy. For some reason when I watch this color dancing around the pen I quickly become re-energized. Silver Pied peafowl are 80-90% white with flecks and small patches of color, mostly silver, throughout. The loud pattern bridges the gap between ordinary and extraordinary. This coloration also commonly carries the white eyed pattern and can open up your door to endless possibilities in your breeding program. This exclusive design is a true pleasure to work around.

Purple Black Shoulder

The original mutation of purple was out of a Blue India Black Shouldered hen and was blessed with the Black Shouldered pattern, only in the purple mutation the "black" is more of a deep cocoa coloration. The purple iridescence of this bird leave it with a noble appearance as it's rich amethyst replaces the blue tones of the normal Blue India. This is truly a stunning bird that quickly captivates your attention. It is sure to be the perfect adornment for your farm.

Buford Bronze

A personal favorite of mine, this coloration reminds me of a sleek and handsome buckskin stallion I once owned and admired greatly. With an almost black neck and body its colors are easily highlighted. Having the normal barred wing and a flowing tail plumage of warm shades of browns, accented with overcasts of copper and bronze, I find myself entranced with the fine artistry. How can we ever question that this bird was not designed exclusively for our pleasure by God Himself?

Midnight Black Shoulder

With that deep Midnight Blue coloration, almost black in appearance, it is this "bad boy" image that draws us into it's web. He struts across the pen- a perfectly crafted, sleek silhouette. When I first saw this bird there was an instant attraction. The darkness is a wonderful contrast to the light and brightly colored birds. The Midnight Black Shoulder is certainly a bird that owns it's own mysterious appearance and the prospects for it's future are endless.

White

This simple and elegant bird is totally white with soft blue eyes. It was the start of our peafowl addiction. Drawn from the cover of a romance novel, its snow white and pearl essence appearance alludes to thoughts of purity and romance. When I first saw these birds I could easily close my eyes and see these ghost-like birds perched against our old barn and it just felt right and comforting. Little did I know it was the start of a serious addiction. I still find the whites to be one of my favorites as even without all the color and glitz, it is still a very beautiful and intricate piece of art.

Watch for updates in early spring!!
