We would like to take a few minutes to welcome you to our farm. Mike & Cheryl Wescher will be your hosts.Nestled in the majestic woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we find great serenity and comfort from the nature and beauty that surrounds our daily living. We have an abundance of wildlife that frequents our land, and growing up in communion with nature has brought us to have great respect and admiration for it all. There is so much beauty to be found in even the smallest of things and we hope to always remember to take the time to enjoy and acknowledge that.
I never would have thought that birds could have become so much a part of our lives. What started out as a couple pets to add a splash of color to our farm soon started to become an addiction. The pheasants were so colorful and active and it just seems to bring forth so much energy to us as we watched them. Soon a few peacocks found their way home and it just seems to continue on. What is a hand full of doves and a few Royal Palm turkeys? I quit counting the numbers and have to remind myself often that we do not need one in every color. We just need to enjoy what we have and hopefully we can reproduce some elegant birds for others to enjoy in the future.
We have studied the genetics and health needs of each breed and take great pride in caring for them properly while providing them ample room to live and grow. Learning is an ongoing experience in life and we will continue to research and draw on other's experience so we can become better each and every day.
We hope you will enjoy your tour and will check back frequently for updated pictures. We have started out with younger stock, so the birds will change greatly with every molt and we will do our best to keep up with those changes.
We have chosen to keep our farm small as we want to be able to truly enjoy all our works. The coffee pot is always on and we do love visitors. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit, just drop us a line or pick up the phone... in the mean time, enjoy your tour here....
