R&R Acres
In Loving Memory . . .

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

R&R's Duke's Joan "41"

Joanie was a birthday present that Richard bought for Rita in 1983. Joan is Rita's middle name. This beautiful Shetland Pony not only was inducted into the ASPC Hall of Fame, but was also an ASPC Superior Dam. She was only the 6th mare in ASPC history to receive such an award. Her gorgeous head and correct body made her an ideal broodmare, but her calm disposition made her an ideal member of their family.

We lost our wonderful "Joanie" at the age of 17 in 2000. She is now on "Rainbow Bridge" running free and happy. We all miss her terribly.

Orbit's Miss Freedom

Freedom came to our farm as a senior mare. She was blind in one eye, but had class and style. She also entered the Superior Dam Hall of Fame in 1999, as two of her offspring were inducted into the ASPC Halter Hall of Fame.

Freedom entered the "Rainbow Bridge" within 6 months of her best friend "Joanie". She was 28 years old and we believe she died of a broken heart.

Flying A's Thief of Hearts

Richard & Rita ventured down to Arkansas to shop for a new herd sire. Laura & Barbara at Flying A had a most impressive herd of minis, and this little devil was exactly what R&R was looking for! With two blue eyes and an impressive conformation, he was guaranteed to produce fantastic foals. We lost him in a tragic accident on the evening of September 11, 2001, but know that his wonderful disposition and spirit will live on in his foals.
