Joanie

Our Shetland herd foundation mare was R & R Duke's Joan - 41". This gorgeous mare did it all. She drove single, double, unicorn, tandem and 2-4-6 ups. She was a true "classic" with an Arab head. She achieved her Halter Hall of Fame trophy at the age of 10 in 1993.

She had taken a few years off to give us some wonderful babies. By 1998, two of her offspring also made the ASPC Halter Hall of Fame. We had the pleasure of showing her daughter, R & R's Tina to that achievement. She is now owned and loved by Becky Hoffman and lives in Indiana, and is still out winning in the showring for Broken Wrench Farm.

Joanie's son, R & R's Playboy Premier Of Kamelot, is proudly owned by Kamelot Miniatures of Bondurant, Iowa, and was her second offspring to be inducted into the ASPC Halter Hall of Fame. Therefore, she was awarded the ASPC Superior Dam trophy. She was only the 6th mare in history to receive this award.

In 2000, her third offspring, R & R's Kahl Me WSK II was also given the ASPC Halter Hall of Fame award. He is currently owned AVS Miniatures in Belleville, Illinois. Congratulations on your multiple Top Tens with "Kid" (see page 40 in the December 2003 JOURNAL).

We lost our wonderful "Joanie" at the age of 17 in 2000. She is now on "Rainbow Bridge" running free and happy.

Orbit's Miss Freedom

ASPC 130536A

Freedom came to our farm as a senior mare. She was blind in one eye, but had class and style. Her pedigree goes back to the famous Ramble Ridge Rocket. This mare had movement and heads-up grace. She put that in her babies. She also entered the Superior Dam Hall of Fame in 1999. Two of her offspring were inducted into the ASPC Halter Hall of Fame.

R & R's Mr. Chip was inducted in 1999. He is now happily entertaining a young girl in Dallas, Texas.

Freedom's daughter, R & R's Free Girl, nicknamed "Easy" , is owned by Dennis and Joyce Scott of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and was also inducted into the ASPC Halter Hall of Fame that same year.

We are very proud to have TWO mares inducted into the ASPC Superior Dam Hall of Fame. Freedom entered the "Rainbow Bridge" within 6 months of her best friend "Joanie". She was 28 years old and we believe she died of a broken heart.

We do not own Shetland ponies any longer. However, we are proud of the ponies we bred and sold. Some are still winning in the showring and making children happy.
