N.E.W.M.H.C. CELEBRATING IT'S FIRST DECADE

The North Eastern Wisconsin Miniature Horse Club Inc. was formed on March 19, 1996. Then on November 11, 2006 at the club's annual Convention Banquet and Silent Auction the club celebrated its 10th year anniversary at Rock Gardens Supper Club Green Bay, Wisconsin. As the members celebrate NEW Miniature Horse Club's Tenth anniversary it is with great pride that they look back on the 2006 year.

The Club had tremendous growth in terms of membership; it now has 170 members representing five different states. New faces have become familiar friends – and for this one must be thankful.

For 10 years the club started with NEWMHC members participating at Horse A Rama held at Manitowoc, WI. for the last two years this event has been the kick off for the club's Miniature Horse Raffle. The Raffle also involved participating at Brown, Kewaunee, Outagamie and Shawano County Brunch on the Farm. The Raffle took on a new look this year as members solicited sales at the Bonduel Parade and Colorama Parade.

Clinics gave members a chance to learn and grow. The first clinic took place in the spring at Daydream Acres on Showmanship and Halter Obstacle. The fall clinic was held at KFME where Joe Pribek, the clinician, addressed beginning and intermediate driving along with Obstacle Driving.

Our third year of hosting an AMHR Sanctioned Show was held Memorial Day weekend and another was held the second week in August. Both shows took place at the Crawford Center in Shawano, Wisconsin. It was great to work with, show with and visit with so many miniature horse lovers of all ages and skill levels! Thanks to all who participated in the Sanctioned Shows, whether by showing, working, or both – this event would not have been possible without your support!

The Hazy Day Show was held July 15th at Daydream Acres in Oneida, Wisconsin. This show was for all realms of miniature horses registered or not in a less competitive environment for members and their families. The weather was really hot…hot…hot and everyone had a lot fun.

New to members this year was a Drill Team that presented the flag at the August Sanctioned Show. Those who participated had a great time driving their minis and learning the pattern for the drill team, which consisted of the Kuczers, Binsfeld, Buettner, and Hieronimczak families. The club also participated in organized parades in July and October. A few trail drives were also held where everyone enjoyed driving or walking their minis!

The season continued into the fall with the Fun Show & Used tack sale held at KFME in Pulaski, Wisconsin. The raffle winners were drawn and announced and the day concluded with a Potluck dinner and club meeting. This was one of the nicest and well-attended events thus far.
