The Mares
of
Mariposa Miniature Horse Farm

Pittman's Blue Lace
AMHR/AMHA - DNA tested
Sire: Pittman's Babe Romper
Dam: Pittman's Misty Rae

1996 Sorrel mare. Lace is a Boone's Little Andy granddaughter as well as being a great-granddaughter of Boone's Little Buckeroo. Lace throws small babies with beautiful heads and movement. She is a dynamo mare with tons of snort and blow. Click here to see her offspring.

Jandt's Bay Beauty

AMHR/AMHA
DNA tested & Parentage Qualified

Sire: Jandt's Dashing Dots
Dam: Jandt’s Do Wan Na

1998 Dark Bay mare. A farm favorite, Beauty is a beautifully put-together, "woofy" mare with lots of smoke. Her maternal brother is in the AMHR Hall of Fame in both Halter and Driving. We have been ecstatic with the foals Beauty has produced for Mariposa farm. Thank you to Jean Barnhill of Dusty Lane Miniatures for parting with this awesome mare! Click her to see her offspring.

Dusty Lane Vegas Shez Got Legs

AMHR/AMHA
DNA tested & Parentage Qualified

Sire: Hilltop's Little Vegas
Dam: Lucky Hart's Rowdy Marguerita

2004 Dark Bay mare. Another awesome find from Dusty Lane Miniatures and Jean Barnhill! This is Helen's favorite mare, who we call Belle. She has the most perfect disposition; a mix of inquisitiveness and confidence. She is a people pleaser who loves to show. Belle's pedigree is awesome…Rowdy, Egyptian King, Meggin, Iowa's Little Kernel, and Vegas! What a package! (See her sire and dam on the Reference Page.) We are not yet ready to retire her to broodmare status. While we are anxious to see her refinement and grace add to our breeding program, we still think she has what it take to make AMHR Halter Hall of Fame. The future for this long-legged lady is shining brightly! Watch for her in the ring in 2007.

Z's Snow On The Mountain
Photos by Triple K Photography
AMHR
Sire: Z-Man (HOF)
Dam: Fertile Slopes Little Sister

2001 Bay Pinto mare. We can't thank Michele and Mike Prekker enough, for letting Snowy come play at Mariposa! We love this mare who has already made such a lasting and positive impact on our breeding program, just by giving us our AWESOME junior stallion, Royal. Snowy's sire Z-Man was the 1999 AMHR Junior Champion Stallion- Under and the 2001 AMHR Reserve Senior Champion Stallion-Under. She is a beautiful, petite and classy mare who has produced some gorgeous foals. Snowy herself, with very little showing in 2004 was Reserve Grand Champion mare and an AMHR National Top Ten. In 2006 for Mariposa Farm, she was a AMHR National Top Ten All-Star! We are so proud of this awesome mare. Click her to see her offspring.

Nellie's Pride
AMHR
Sire: Midnight "Flash" Magoo
Dam: Art's Kookie

1991 Sorrel mare. We call this mare Chloe. She is a tall mare with a wide strip and beautiful ears. Chloe produces some height in her foals and always seems to give them a nice slim neck. Bred to Outlaw's Beau Sensation for 2007. Click here to see Chloe's Offspring.

Guthrie's Little Angel By Opie

AMHR
Sire: Black Cherry's Little Angel (HOF)
Dam: Queen Red Velvet

1996 Sorrel Pinto mare. Opal is such a sweetie. She is Charlie's favorite mare and he has her quite spoiled. Opal's sire is a two-time AMHR Hall of Fame Driving stallion. I have seen him perform in Park Harness and he has the right to claim those titles! Opal's paternal Granddam also possesses the title of Superior Dam. Opal is a very small horse and throws very small, petite foals. Pasture bred to Outlaw's Beau Sensation for a 2007 foal. Click here to see Opal's offspring.

DD Lauren

AMHR
Sire: Hidden Meadows Fort Knox
Dam: D D Susie

1988 Sorrel mare. This proven broodmare settles and foals easily. She has a nice big eye and imparts a presence to her foals that you can't miss. Her foals have all stayed under and are very petite. We showed two of her fillies at the 2006 AMHR Area VI Nationals, where they took second place. Bred to D&D Dancin A Jig for 2007. Click here for pictures of DD's offspring.

ET's Prom Queen

AMHR
Sire: Tibbs Echo Express
Dam: Miss Prom JB

2004 sorrel and white pinto mare. Daisy, as we call her, is a sweet little mare who comes to Mariposa from ET Miniatures, owned by Ed Tichota of Lincoln, NE. She has a very pretty, expressive face, and a long, long, neck. She is very refined and graceful and we are anxious to see what exciting foals she will add to our breeding program. Daisy has been pasture bred to Outlaw's Beau Sensation for a 2007 foal.

Mariposa's Ain't She Beau Dacious

AMHR
Sire: Little King's Beau Buckeroo
Dam: DD Lauren

2004 Silver Bay mare. We call this mare Jewel. She carries the honor of being the first foal born at Mariposa Farm. We were so thrilled when she arrived! This mare is spoiled! Jewel is petite and refined, with her dam's large, expressive eye. Jewel will mature under 34 inches. Her color is exceptional and she has placed over and over in the color class. Her dam can be seen above on our Mares page, and her sire can be seen on the Reference Page.

Mariposa's Center Stage Sensation

AMHR
AMHR National Futurity Nominated
AMHR National Futurity Sustained for 2007

Sire: Outlaw's Beau Sensation
Dam: DD Lauren

2005 Silver Bay mare. This mare is a pill! She has personality plus and is the apple of her sire's eye. We call her Poppy and she has the attitude and grandeur of a much larger horse. She really is her sire, wrapped in her dam's clothing. We had fun showing Poppy in 2006, and look forward to adding her to our broodmare band. Her sire can be seen on our Stallions page and her dam can be seen above on our Mares page.

Mariposa's Bohemian Alps Zip Code

AMHR
Sire: Barbours Comanche Rebel
Dam: Guthrie's Little Angel By Opie

2005 sorrel and white pinto mare. We refer to this bundle of energy as Tulip. Tulip is especially sweet because she has a mild leg deformity in her front leg. The angular deformity does not hinder her in any way, and she runs and plays just like all her stable mates. She was always being handled, trimmed, examined, etc. as a weanling, so she loves people and attention. She has two very light, bright blue eyes that she inherited from her sire. Tulip will stay with us forever, unless someone would like to buy her for a "buddy", understanding that she should never be bred. A better equine friend, you're unlikely to find. Her sire can be seen on our Stallions page and her dam above on our Mares page.

Mariposa's Sensational Silhouette

AMHR
Sire: Outlaw's Beau Sensation
Dam: Nellie's Pride

2005 Palomino mare. We call this mare Lily. She is the spitting image of her sire Sensation. We haven't shown her due to space limitations, but certainly reserve the option to show her in the future. We are looking forward to watching her mature and will be retaining her for our breeding program. Her dilute genes will be very welcome! Her dam and sire can both be seen on our Mares and Stallions pages respectively.
