Lucky Harts Whitie

I don't know where to begin to tell the story of Whitie. I purchased her about 18 years ago from an old neighbor that had raised and jockied ponies for about a hundred years. Along with Whitie came two of her sisters (Beauty and Sassy) or maybe they were her daughters, he couldn't quite remember after having a series of strokes. But I did know that he had a used grade Welsh stallion and at the time had a tiny black stallion, running with them. Whitie was pretty old at that time. Well the next few years were a bit disappointing as Whitie like to kill me and I had about had it with her after a series of mostly stud colts that were about as hard headed as she was.

Then, came Rowdys Rebel, and sure enough there was the filly I had been waiting for. - Klaudie - Well, Klaudie turned out to be a lover. And I thought, I am not going to push my luck with this old girl, so I sold her and her only other filly Gracie. But as luck would have it Whitie came through with another Rebel filly (Whitney) the next year and I just had to buy them back. However, Gracie was sold and ended up with Sandy Nicolls down in Texas, so I had to get her back too.

Meanwhile Klaudie grew up and was bred to Buckeroo Little Rascal and produced the 1998 National Grand Champion A Mare.

And Whitie kept getting meaner and skinnier. And so last year I thought, enough is enough she has to be 30 years old. But sure enough, in 2004 she came through with a wonderful cremello filly, (Fairy).

I know everyone has their own old horse story, but if you happen to see a sale horse with Whitie in its pedigree on my site, it will be a lot more spendy than the average horse, because for one, they are extra good and secondly I deserve it.

One more thing about Whitie, I haven't done her hooves for 9 years -- and they look just like she had just stepped out of the Pedicure palor.
