Mountain Meadows D's American Express
AMHR

For the past few years the search has been on to find a solid, many-generation miniature-pedigreed B stallion to cross with these Rowdy-Buckeroo mares. I think that we have found him in Express.

Now, Jessica Matheson of Spirit Thunder Miniatures--the sole owner of Express for the last 4 years--has given us the opportunity to own him. I feel that we have found the stallion that will give the Rowbuck girls a chance to produce up to their potential.

Little King's Buckeroo God

AMHR/AMHA
Sire: Boone's Little Buckeroo
Dam: Chickadee Ridge Gold Mist

About George? Hmmmm.... What do I say? Well I guess I'd have to describe George as a "Thinker." He'll be going about his business and then stop dead in his tracks and ponder things. He never seems to do anything until he gives it some thought. He is very easy to handle and always comes to me head up and straight on, with his ears ahead. And his foals are the same way.

I have become very conscious of good ears the last few years. And I love most of Georges babies ears. (tight and tippy) But what I like most about George is his length of neck. He has given me at least an extra inch and probably two on his offspring. Also I tell people if it has a pretty head with big eyes it is probably a George baby.

George's first offspring are being shown now. So far all of them have gone high top ten in National open and futurity. I am very anxious to cross the George daughters with Express.

The ones who started it all...creating the first ROWBUCKs!

Rowdy's Rebel

AMHR
Sire: Rowdy
Dam: Rawlinson's Little Maggie
I keep saying that I am going to get a good picture of Old Reb before it is too late, but it isn't gonna happen. I know this picture looks plenty foolish now, but at the time we thought it was something, big old clunky halter and all. Man, we were excited when this came out!

Anyway this is Reb and he is mine, nobody else messes with Reb and we like it just fine that way, That is the way we like it for sure , me and Reb. FINE FINE FINE.

Rowdy Rebel Son of Rowdy. With out Reb there would be no Lucky Hart Miniature Horse ranch. After a quite a few years in trying to raise miniature HORSES, I was getting quite discouraged and thought about quitting. People would come and look at the foals and say, " Oh, aren't they cute, they're not Shetlands are they?" I'd reply,"Oh, no they are bred from generations of little horses that were imported to work in the coal mines." Heck, I should have said they were imported from Mars, they looked like little Marsians. Then I saw a picture of Rowdy and thought, "Now He looks like a horse." I researched alittle and found that sure enough, there was Shetland in his background and they had not worked in the coal mines. (Kewpies Sun)

Well I bought Rebel from NFC. And the rest was easy. Reb produced daughters for us that continue to produce wonderful offspring with almost any good stallion we use with them, but they are especially good when crossed with the Buckeroo sons. So, Reb -the lazy old bugger- stays here and forever. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't have a little chat. He is such a good listener.

Buckeroo's Little Rascal

AMHR/AMHA - 33.5"
Sire: Boone's Little Buckeroo
Dam: Boone's Little Pretty Girl

Rascal has been with us for the last 12 years. He will be 23 years old this spring and other than beeing a little over-weight, is still going strong. He has been stalled next to Rowdys Rebel for all these years and they are the foundation of the Lucky Hart breeding program. Rascal is very fine-boned underneath all those extra pounds. His head is small, his ears are right up there. His offspring usually get his good little feet and he produces very feminine-looking fillies.

He has produced many, many, many champion show horses, especially when bred to Rebel daughters. Rascal offspring out of Reb daughters were the first Rowbucks. The past 4-5 years we have saved these daughters and now are trying other stallions with them. There is so much more that I could say about Rascal, but I guess he has said it all for himself. It was the luckiest day of my horse life that Lowell decided to sell me Buckeroos Little Rascal. He is the reason I went Buckeroo.

Reference stallions . . .
that have had a large influence on our program:

Little Kings Buck On Broadway

AMHR / AMHA
Sire: Boone's Little Buckeroo
Dam: Johnston's Little Bo Cream
        (Daughter of Roan Ranger)

BOB is one of the few stallions that made a mark for himself from the minute his offspring stepped out into the show ring. While Bob was owned in partnership with Hoofbeat Acreas, he would spend his summer vacation at the Lucky Hart.

Buck On Broadway has been exclusively owned by Angie and Gary Sauer for quite a few years now, but BOB left his mark on our program. He sired close to 25 fillies for us and about 15 have been retained as broodmares. These mares, many of them being Rowbucks, are just beginning to play a large roll in our breeding program.

In order to differeniate Buck On "BOBs" , from the Lucky Hart BOB's, ours usually carry the Broadway name. So if you see Broadway that means BOB, for us.

Lucky C Farms Robby

AMHR/AMHA - 30.0"
Sire: Jandts Howdi Of Owatonna
Dam: Johnstons White Fairy

Robby was a rare find. We have used Robby for the last couple years and are very excited about what he has done. Robby's mother was a Gold Melody Boy daughter (Johnstons White Fairy). I have been told she was breathtaking. Robby is a spitfire and doesn't walk, he dances. I feel Robby's best attribute is his clean upright long neck, Even at his age his neck looks like it has been sweated all his life. And then there is his color. It is hard to find a palomino as gold as he is with those huge black eyes. There is no other was to describe his babies except to say they are adorable. He has produced some wonderful daughters for us that are now an important part of our broodmare band.
