I have been a horse lover my whole life, but did not actually own horses until I was a full grown up person… As a young person, since I didn’t have a horse to occupy my spare time, I spent every waking moment learning anything and everything that I could about horses and being around horses as much as possible.
When my children were young we belonged to 4H and I was the program leader. I set the educational goals and programs for our group. I also was honored to lead the county’s Hippology Team for several years. It was a wonderful and rewarding experience.
From there I got involved with miniature horses and fell in love all over again with the little equine, finally owning that “pony” I yearned for so many years ago. Over the past 16 years I have been a professional trainer and handler, I have conducted clinics on showing, clipping, grooming, driving, fitting and conditioning. I have earned my judging license for small equine and have judged many, many shows here and abroad. Two of my most accomplished judging assignments have been judging the AMHR Nationals in 2006 and the New Zealand Miniature Nationals in 2006.
Now as a grandma person I want to share and teach what I have learned through all those years. I have enjoyed instructing and educating anyone who wanted to learn about horses and miniature horses.
With the help and guidance of some very special ladies, Sharon and Jan of the Pony School and Linda Braddy of The Pony Lady LLC, I have opened a riding academy for young people at my facility in Strasburg, Colorado. | Click on photos to see larger versionsKellie-Ray & Promise
